Emory Urology Residency for MDs
Residency training in urology at the Emory University School of Medicine is a five-year program that includes one year of general surgery training, followed by four years of training in urologic surgery. A three-month portion of the general surgery year is also allocated to urology training. Four residents per year are selected from a large applicant pool through the urology match performed by the American Urological Association (AUA).
Applications are processed through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Applicants matching in urology at Emory University are also required to do their general surgery training at Emory. Following completion of the urology match in January, accepted residents will be matched through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) for the pre-urology training in general surgery under the preliminary program urology match number at Emory University in March.
