Bio-Summary

Dr. Lorentz graduated from the Honors Program at the University of Georgia with Bachelor of Science degrees in Genetics and Psychology. He then attended medical school at the Emory University School of Medicine, where he participated in local and international volunteer service, including work with the Emory Haiti Alliance. He went on to complete his internship and residency training at Emory and joined Emory Urology as a faculty member in 2018. His clinical interests include urologic cancers, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), kidney stone disease, and minimally invasive surgery.

Dr. Lorentz has been recognized for excellence in both academics and patient care. During his training he was awarded the William Hollis Cooner Award for exemplary compassion and patient care as well as the Montague Boyd research award from the Southeastern Section of the American Urological Association.

Dr. Lorentz is involved in mentoring medical students and residents. His research has earned numerous awards, and he has authored multiple peer-reviewed scientific journal articles and abstracts both nationally and internationally. As Director of Emory Clinic Urology at Emory University Hospital Midtown, Dr. Lorentz is working to expand patient access to urologic care in Atlanta and surrounding communities.
